Vice-Chancellor,FUTO Holds Interactive Session with Graduate Assistance/Assistants Lecturers


In his efforts to impact the spirit of the mantra “Quest for Excellence” the Vice-Chancellor, FUTO, Prof C. C. Asiabaka held an interactive session with Assistant Lecturers and Graduate Assistants in the University on Friday, June 28, 2013.

vccccccc  During the session which witnessed a large turn-out of the junior academic staff, the Vice-Chancellor admonished them to acquaint themselves with the goals and objectives of the administrations mantra “Quest for Excellence” as well as participate in all University activities. He cautioned against spreading rumour and added that the University will continue to provide the needed facilities and infrastructure for effective academic performance. He also disclosed that Management will not tolerate truancy and idleness among staff. The Chief Executive of the University noted that Management evolved a deliberate policy of automatic employment of first class graduates in order to create world class inventors, patent holders and researchers from among them. Finally, he urged them to channel useful suggestions that can move the University forward personally to him via his email.


During the interaction, the academic staff thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the interactive session and the enormous development of infrastructure/facilities in the University.  They listed some of the challenges affecting their work such as inadequate academic staff, books, journals, poor power supply and inadequate computer systems and delay in the completion period for postgraduate programmes. They also urged Management to make available to them the process of accessing TETFUND sponsorship to include them.

In his closing remarks, the Vice-Chancellor stated that paucity of funds was hampering the development of some University projects. He disclosed that the University has already procured more generators to assist in the provision of electricity in the University. He further disclosed that there were specifications and rules of awarding TETFUND sponsorship. He urged them to live up to expectations and be the best in their chosen career.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied to the interaction by Principal Officers of the University.
