About Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering Department has four major option areas:
*Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering Technology,
*Automotive Engineering Technology
*Industrial and Production Engineering Technology. and
*Aeronautic Engineering Technology,
is billed to take off very soon. Our research expertise covers a wide range of areas including Renewable Energy studies, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Automotive, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Designs and Production Engineering.
With highly experienced academic staff and technologists, the department offers consultancy services to a wide range of industries and institution through its registered company.

Since its introduction as a course offered in the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Mechanical Engineering Department has lived up to its philosophy which is “Mechanical Engineering for Wealth Creation and National Development”. Driven by its vision of producing the best manpower in Mechanical Engineering using available state of the art equipment/techniques, the department has significantly contributed to the growth of engineering firms and research institutions (both locally and internationally).
